A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, David Channing specializes in criminal defense law. He served as a public defender in the State of Connecticut for 26 years, from 1995 through 2021, after which he started his own private practice

Throughout his career, Mr. Channing has secured acquittals for clients facing serious criminal charges, including murder, sexual assault, child sexual assault, robbery, larceny, and DUI. He is death-penalty qualified and has argued appeals before both the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Connecticut Supreme Court.

Mr. Channing also served for nine years on the Connecticut Grievance Committee, where he adjudicated matters involving attorney ethics and professional conduct. He is admitted to practice law in both Connecticut and New York.
